What an MCP server does for social design

MCP lets your agent use typed tools instead of handing you instructions to carry out somewhere else.

The short version

MCP is an open protocol for connecting an agent to tools. In The Agentcy, the server gives your agent access to a brand kit, pieces, templates, media, and calendar without giving it a free-form HTML canvas.

The difference in one sentence

Without MCP, your agent tells you what to put on a slide. With MCP, it puts it there.

A model without tools returns text you still need to carry into another app. With tools, it does the production work and leaves you to read and correct.

What tools your agent gets

BrandRead the workspace brand kit and resolve its tokens.
PiecesCreate and edit validated slide and layer data.
TemplatesRead templates you saved and start from one.
MediaUse assets stored in your workspace.
CalendarPlan dates and inspect scheduled work.
PreviewCreate a one-use link for the real rendered piece.

Which agents speak MCP

Claude CodeRemote MCP server connection.
ClaudeCustom connector connection.
ChatGPTMCP connection through OAuth.
CursorRemote MCP configuration.
CodexMCP server added from the CLI or settings.

Any other MCP-compatible client can work too. These are the five we test.

How it connects

You add the remote server, authorize a workspace through OAuth, and ask the agent to read your brand. If it answers with your colors and fonts, the connection is ready.

The complete path is in the agent connection guide.
