How to publish and schedule on Instagram and LinkedIn

Connect the account once, review the piece, and publish or schedule it on Instagram and LinkedIn from the editor.

Connect your Instagram account

Direct publishing uses a professional creator or business account. Connect it from Your account, Networks, with the Connect button: Instagram asks for the permissions and sends you back connected. The dedicated connection guide covers every screen.

  1. 01
Use a professional accountInstagram's API only publishes to creator and business accounts.
  2. 02
Press Connect in NetworksThe Instagram tile is the only one with an action. It takes you to Instagram with your session.
  3. 03
Grant the two permissionsReading your basic profile, which shows your handle, and publishing content, which sends the piece out.
  4. 04
Come back connectedThe return is automatic. The tile shows your handle and the date it was connected.

Publish from the editor

  1. 01
Open PublishThe editor shows slides, caption, and connected account together.
  2. 02
Review every detailCheck order, crop, caption, and account. Human confirmation stays here by design.
  3. 03
ConfirmChoose publish now or continue to scheduling. The result is stored on the piece.

Schedule is different from publish

Publish nowThe request goes to Instagram immediately after confirmation.
ScheduleChoose a future date and time. The queue retries temporary failures.
DownloadFor every other network, download images and captions and post them yourself.

On LinkedIn

LinkedIn connects the same way, from Your account, Networks, and publishes on your profile. What changes is the format: a one-slide piece goes out as an image and a piece with two or more goes out as a PDF with one page per slide, which LinkedIn renders as a document with arrows and a page counter. The ceiling is twenty slides, twice the Instagram carousel.

The LinkedIn caption is its own text, up to 3000 characters, not the Instagram one pasted over. You write it in the same Publish dialog, and a shortcut borrows the Instagram one if you would rather edit from there. The first line is what matters: LinkedIn folds the rest behind see more.

The dialog lets you tick both networks at once. The same piece goes out on Instagram and on LinkedIn in one run, each with its own caption and format, with a progress line per network. The connection is covered in the LinkedIn guide.

One caption per network

The editor keeps captions next to the slides. Instagram and LinkedIn are both reviewed in the Publish dialog, each with its own counter. Every other network keeps its caption on the piece for when you download and post by hand.
